The Portrait
She took a business degree from Temple in 1996 and went back four more times — for wedding planning, event planning, meeting planning and interior design. It is an unusual combination, and it explains a great deal. She can read a room the way a designer reads a room, and run it the way an operator runs a floor.
Heaven Sent opened in 2001. In the quarter century since, she has planned more than five hundred weddings and celebrations, carried eighty-seven of them overseas, and been named planner of the year in Philadelphia so many times that the city eventually ran out of ways to say it.
What she is known for, though, is not the awards. It is the quiet. Brides describe her the same way, year after year: a calm in the room. She handles the florist, the venue, the timeline, the mother-in-law and the weather, and she does it without ever appearing to hurry.
She is a licensed and insured international travel advisor, Delaware Director of the National Association for Bridal Consultants, Delaware chapter head of the International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals, and an advisory board member at Chesapeake Bay Wedding Magazine.
